I had the pleasure of attending a sustainable spring arrangement workshop at Fleuris Studio & Blooms recently... it was an absolute treat being immersed in the creativity and beauty of this space! Julie was welcoming and warm, sharing not only her incredible studio and garden but also her knowledge. I felt comfortable and yet encouraged to stretch myself and try new techniques which was my hope. It was a small group and we each created something unique and individual, a most enjoyable and inspiring experience.
It was such a treat to spend an afternoon with Julie. Touring her beautiful garden and seeing the flowers in situ was a wonderful way to begin our workshop — it gave me a fuller picture of the effort that goes into growing beautiful local flowers in a sustainable way. With her gentle manner and a clear step-by-step process, Julie taught us how to create arrangements that have movement, flow, and whimsy, and I so appreciate her commitment to the environment in all aspects of Fleuris.
Would highly recommend one of her workshops! Julie shared her knowledge and skills of floral design with a relaxed approach. This allows you to access your own creativity with gentle guidance from a very talented designer.
Her orchard garden is so unique and every corner of the space offers something beautiful or interesting to rest your eyes on.

Over the course of our conversations, Julie taught me which vessels are most conducive to garden-inspired floral designs, how to use floral frogs, chicken wire pillows, and floral tape to stabilize designs.
She also taught me the names and varieties of local flowers.
And how her flower farm nourishes the environment by providing food and sanctuary to insects, bees, hummingbirds, and wildlife.
