Wabi Sabi Mini Arrangements Atelier

A simple and accessible way to step into flower arranging, where you are guided to observe, respond, and trust your eye.

Working with seasonal stems gathered from the orchard garden, we explore arranging in its most essential form.

Each composition is guided by the natural movement of the flowers, the space between them, and a sense of balance that unfolds intuitively.

You will work with a kenzan in a reusable mini ceramic vessel.

Your experience includes:
• Seasonal flowers from the orchard garden
• Hands-on guidance
• Your own mini arrangement to take home

“My arrangement was so different than anything I have created before!”

— BETH

I had the pleasure of attending a sustainable spring arrangement workshop at Fleuris Studio & Blooms recently... it was an absolute treat being immersed in the creativity and beauty of this space! Julie was welcoming and warm, sharing not only her incredible studio and garden but also her knowledge. I felt comfortable and yet encouraged to stretch myself and try new techniques which was my hope. It was a small group and we each created something unique and individual, a most enjoyable and inspiring experience.

It was such a treat to spend an afternoon with Julie. Touring her beautiful garden and seeing the flowers in situ was a wonderful way to begin our workshop — it gave me a fuller picture of the effort that goes into growing beautiful local flowers in a sustainable way. With her gentle manner and a clear step-by-step process, Julie taught us how to create arrangements that have movement, flow, and whimsy, and I so appreciate her commitment to the environment in all aspects of Fleuris.

— Adrienne

“I hesitated at the price, but I'm glad I took the plunge!”

Would highly recommend one of her workshops! Julie shared her knowledge and skills of floral design with a relaxed approach. This allows you to access your own creativity with gentle guidance from a very talented designer.

Her orchard garden is so unique and every corner of the space offers something beautiful or interesting to rest your eyes on.

more about me

hey there!

When are your floral ateliers held?

Our floral ateliers are offered seasonally, in rhythm with what is growing in the orchard garden.
Bouquet and vase arrangement ateliers are typically held in spring and late summer, while wreath and botanical décor ateliers take place in fall and winter. Each season brings its own focus and atmosphere.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many participants are in each atelier?

Ateliers are intentionally kept small to allow for personal guidance and a relaxed, meaningful experience.
Group sizes typically range from 4 to 8 participants, depending on the nature of the atelier, with some offerings designed for even more intimate groups.

Which flowers/botanical ingredients will we use?

All flowers and botanical elements are seasonal, locally grown, and thoughtfully sourced, with the majority coming directly from our orchard garden.
Each atelier reflects what is at its most beautiful in that moment.

How often do you offer floral design ateliers?

A limited number of ateliers are offered each season, carefully woven into the growing and design rhythm of the farm.
Because group sizes are small and dates are limited, ateliers often fill quickly. Early reservation is encouraged.
Offerings are sometimes grouped by season or weekend, allowing guests travelling from out of town to enjoy more than one experience during their visit.

How much are the ateliers?

Each atelier is designed as an intimate, immersive experience rather than a traditional class.
Pricing reflects the abundance of seasonal flowers, the care given to each detail, and the small group setting that allows for thoughtful, individual guidance.
Individual pricing is listed with each atelier.

How long are the ateliers?

Most ateliers run 3 to 4 hours, either in the morning or afternoon.
This allows time to slow down, spend time in the garden, and create thoughtfully in the studio, without feeling rushed.

Do I need prior floral design experience?

No prior experience is required.
Ateliers are designed to meet you where you are, whether you are new to working with flowers or looking to refine your eye and approach.
Guidance is offered throughout, with space for creativity, intuition, and personal expression. Ingredients are thoughtfully selected based on what is most beautiful in the garden that week.

Are ateliers suitable as gifts?

Yes, ateliers make a thoughtful gift for anyone who enjoys flowers, creativity, and meaningful experiences.
Gift certificates are available when ateliers are open for reservation.

Over the course of our conversations, Julie taught me which vessels are most conducive to garden-inspired floral designs, how to use floral frogs, chicken wire pillows, and floral tape to stabilize designs.
She also taught me the names and varieties of local flowers.
And how her flower farm nourishes the environment by providing food and sanctuary to insects, bees, hummingbirds, and wildlife.
